Does anyone here actually invest in inflation-indexed bonds? Trying to understand if they make sense for retail investors

Been reading about inflation-indexed bonds, specifically the Capital Indexed Bonds and Inflation Indexed National Savings Securities that the RBI has issued in the past. The concept makes sense theoretically, your principal adjusts with CPI so you are protected from inflation. But I haven’t seen many retail investors talk about them. Does anyone hold these and do they actually work as advertised?
