Hey everyone,
Had a basic question, is there any lock-in period when I invest in a corporate bond or can I exit anytime if needed?
Hey, thanks for the question, Vinesh.
Most corporate bonds do not have a lock-in period. You are free to exit before maturity as long as there is a buyer available in the secondary market.
So the ability to sell depends on market liquidity, if someone is willing to buy your bond, you can sell it.
On BondScanner, we’ll also soon be enabling a smooth resale flow so users can list their bonds for sale directly through the platform.
