Why do some bonds get sold out so fast?

Noticed some bonds get fully booked in minutes while others just sit there. What’s the difference?

better issuer usually
or higher yield

i’ve seen this too, sometimes by the time i open the app it’s already gone

yeah same, feels like you have to be online at the exact time

Demand plays a big role. If the issuer is well known or the yield looks attractive compared to others, it gets picked up quickly.

so it’s just demand supply then

pretty much
nothing fancy

some people just invest based on issuer name i think

or they’ve seen similar deals before

yeah i still read everything line by line

you’ll get faster after a few
first few times everyone takes time

They would be plugged into inventory of different brokers or institutions. This way they can only list what is available and the quantity will be limited. I also think that they’d have to commit a minimum order quantity of how much they can sell e.g. inventory would be 10cr but they can only sell say 1cr in a day. So the seller would only list less inventory.
